Hertford Offset goes for CCM Premier

CCM Premier 92 at Hertford Offset Ltd

Hertford Offset Ltd has further upgraded its finishing department with the installation of a CCM Premier 92 guillotine from UK supplier Terry Cooper Services in order to cope with increased demand and reduce bottlenecks.

Finishing Manager Lee Viviani has been with the company for six years, and witnessed a period of steady expansion. "It is fair to say the finishing department has doubled in size because in all the key areas we now have two of everything, when we had only one when I began working here," he says. "Back then we also took on occasional trade finishing jobs, but we're simply too busy finishing our own work nowadays."

The company's investment in the CCM Premier was made to improve efficiency and turnround times via new technology. "Having removed an ageing machine we now have two guillotines from TCS, and between them they put our guillotining operation up to 2007 standards," says Mr Viviani. "The programming system on the CCM Premier is one of its best features, it remembers every job we do so that when repeat work comes along we just need to look up the job ticket number for very fast set-ups. It's also a very easy machine to both learn and use."

Mr Viviani also rates the ‘supplier factor' highly when choosing equipment. "We have dealt with TCS for some years and we have always been pleased with the level of service they provide. If properly looked after the CCM Premier should last many years, and we are confident that TCS will be on hand to service it, and quickly solve any issues we may encounter."

Formed in 1963, Hertford Offset is a well established general commercial printer with a client list including some major household names such as Tesco and HMV. It runs three five colour Komori presses as part of a comprehensive concept-to-completion service.
